Vita Kurland is enrolled in a dual degree master’s program at New York
University and Long Island University in Costume Studies and Library and
Information Science. Kurland approaches the study of dress and material culture
from an interdisciplinary standpoint, pulling from their background in Art History
and interest in archival and curatorial practice. Kurland’s research focuses on secondhand markets, memorial wearables, uniforms, and street style.
Kurland’s work as an archivist is centered around bringing marginalized histories to the forefront of archives and education.
They hold their Bachelor of Arts (BA) focused on Art and Aesthetics, from Bard College Berlin (BCB).
