Temporary Closure of the Barnard Archives:
In preparation for our anticipated move into the Milstein Center in the summer of 2018, we will temporarily close to researchers during the late spring of 2018 through the summer of 2018. We will announce our dates of closure in the near future. We encourage you to plan your research visits and requests accordingly. During the time that we are closed, we will not be retrieving any materials from our off-site storage facility, and we will ask researchers to rely on the content that is provided in our digital collections.
We appreciate your patience, and we cannot wait to share our new space with you in August!
Access to Our Collections:
Barnard College is undertaking the construction of the new Milstein Center on the same footprint of the former Lehman Hall. In order to accommodate construction, the Archives has moved the majority of its collections to off-site, retrievable storage for the duration of construction, and the Archives offices and reading room have moved to the LeFrak Center in Barnard Hall. Please see our contact page for more information on requesting materials, scheduling appointments, and visiting the Archives.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding. Please be sure to contact us before planning a trip to the Archives and Special Collections to ensure that the materials you need will be available. We also recommend using our Digital Collections site to access scanned copies of the yearbook, the Barnard Bulletin, and a selection of photographs.
