Album-cover style stylized photograph with text reading "The H-Suite Presents: A FLI Story" with motion lines coming off of the text. Behind the text a figure stands with their back to us, facing a structure with the words "You're Cool" on the side, trees, and sunlight.

The staff of the Archives and Special Collections are excited to announce a new collection: the Hawa Tunkara '21 FLI Story Collection contains 25 oral histories from first-generation and/or low-income students and alums of Barnard College and Columbia University conducted during the years of 2020-2021. Through video and audio recordings as well as written and visual art pieces, the FLI Story aims to tell a story (and not the) story of first generation and/or low-income students at Columbia University. Hawa Tunkara '21 conceived of the collection, conducted and processed interviews, and donated the collection to the Archives. We gratefully acknowledge Alice Schreyer '68, whose funding supported the processing and transcription of materials in this collection.

You can now review the finding aid for the collection; read, watch, and listen to online materials from the collection; and see a series of blog post summaries of alum interviews from the collection.
