Requesting Off-Site Materials

The majority of the Archives' collections are currently housed in off-site retrievable storage, for the duration of the construction of the new Teaching and Learning Center. In order to use off-site materials, please email staff at at least a week in advance of any planned visits to the Archives, including in your message the collection and boxes you want to use. Advance notice is required as we recall materials on a weekly basis every Thursday. Please feel free to contact us if you need assistance selecting materials to request or planning your visit to the Archives. 


The Archives is staffed between the hours of 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Appointments are necessary for all researchers who wish to use archival materials; please email staff at to schedule an appointment. 


The Barnard Archives and Speical Locations are located on the lower level of Lehman Hall, Room 019.
